Adrian’s unique use of brickwork, innovative colour schemes, and distinctive design insight truly capture our family’s aesthetic - something that my husband and I couldn’t put an exact finger on or agree on previously! His ability to blend these elements seamlessly creates a stunning and unique style that sets his work apart - we are so impressed with our extension plans. Highly recommend!
Thank you, Adrian, your designs are absolute works of art!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When we started discussions with Adrian when were on holiday at our apartment, but unfortunately we had to return to NZ due to Covid restrictions. Consequently all discussions had to be done via email and Zoom! Adrian and McKenzie were just amazing taking on board our ideas for colours, furniture style, etc. We now have, in our mind, the perfect holiday apartment….stylish and relaxing! Thank you Adrian and McKenzie!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have worked with Adrian on several properties, firstly our home in Buderim where he designed a new layout for parts of our home.

Adrian has an abundance of ideas and spends time to understand the space and the feeling that we wanted as clients for our home to have. He is fun to work with, and committed to getting the best possible outcome from the budget.

Next he work on our flagship retail outlet where we were renovating the shop layout, this was a learning journey and the his input was invaluable, through conversation and understanding our needs and our customers needs he was able to stare us in innovative directions which gave us a map that integrated with our new branding and colours, we have been able to roll this out over more of our retail outlets.

Currently Adrian has been working with us on our new home on the water in the Sunshine Coast, we have undergone a major remodel and again his ideas and practical solutions have made the space into “our home” we are excited to live in.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Adrian for his Building Design and Interior design skills.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have worked with Adrian and I find him very creative in a thoughtful and fun way. He gets to know you as a person and designs spaces around the way you and your family lives while also taking the environment ie air flow, cooling and heating into consideration.
I have no hesitation in recommending Adrian to those people who are open to new ideas and what to have a bit of fun along the way.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Adrian designed an additional space for me to set up as a functional office and dual purpose space that can be easily converted to self contained flat at a later stage. He looked at all the restraints as opportunities for clever design as opposed to problems. His practical knowledge was amazing, when I suggested swapping things around he gave clear a practical reasons why he would or wouldn't move things around. Things that I would never have considered.

Adrian took into account our existing house even though we are going to renovate the existing house as well. The extension is a modern funky design which ties in well with the existing and gives us plenty of options when we renovate the existing house. Adrian looked at the big picture even though we were only able to take it in stages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a building designer and an architect?

A building designer focuses on residential homes and smaller-scale projects, while architects often work across a broad spectrum, including commercial buildings. Adrian Ramsay blends the technical expertise of a building designer with the creative vision of an architect, offering a uniquely tailored approach that prioritises both aesthetics and functionality.

How does Adrian Ramsay’s process differ from other building designers?

Many building designers focus solely on drafting plans to meet client requests. Adrian takes a holistic approach, starting with a deep understanding of the land, regulations, and client aspirations. His designs are not just about meeting a brief but about creating homes that enhance the way his clients live while respecting the landscape.

Is sustainability really important in home design?

Absolutely. Sustainable homes are more energy-efficient, comfortable, and cost-effective in the long run. Adrian incorporates natural airflow, light, and insulation to ensure minimal reliance on artificial heating or cooling. Additionally, he carefully selects materials that are durable, non-toxic, and environmentally responsible.

Do I need a specific budget to work with Adrian Ramsay Design House?

Adrian works with a range of budgets, but it’s crucial to have a realistic understanding of the cost of your vision. One of the first steps in the process is to align design aspirations with budget expectations, ensuring feasibility and smart investment in high-value areas of the home.
