These clients had great vision and style and were excited by brave choices. When they bought the home, they fell in love with being in the treetops and wanted to do a renovation that made a dramatic impact when people walked into the home. With this approach we were able to achieve highly functional spaces that created excitement and flow, with industrial undertones. We moved the kitchen, removed walls in the living area, renewed the Master Bedroom and renovated the house bathroom. We used cast-in-place concrete. Cast in situ is a speciality of Adrian Ramsay Design House. We have a gas strut window opening to the kitchen to the outside, which worked really well for this project. We also used stacker windows for the outside walls, creating a flow from the outside to the inside and keeping full view of the treetops from every angle. The main issue we came across was dampness in the home and tight, small spaces. We recreated the feel of the home by re-appropriating space within the home – spaciousness was created through renovation, there were no additions. This was a fantastic project as the Designer, Adrian Ramsay, had lots of great ideas which when combined with the client who oozed personal style they got amazing results. This project was budgeted in multiple stages and stayed within budget.
