Sunshine Coast designer Adrian Ramsay cleans up at 2020 BDAA Awards

Leading Sunshine Coast designer Adrian Ramsay has won three accolades at the prestigious Building Designers Association Australia Awards.

The event held on Friday 13 November awarded prizes to the Buderim-based designer for renovation design, new build design, and interior design.

For his ‘Foster House’ design, Adrian won for ‘Residential alterations/additions’ for between $250,001 – $500,000.

For his ‘417 Noosa Home’, Adrian’s work was awarded for ‘Residential Interiors’. Finally, Adrian’s ‘Morris House’ work won for ‘New residential buildings 351 – 450 sqm and over $2500/sqm’.

Adrian had previously won an architectural award in 2020, but these latest accolades represent the first for his design work this year.

“In a creative field like design, it’s the end result which matters most, not only for meeting the client’s brief, but my own personal creative satisfaction as well,” he said upon reflecting on his wins.

“It’s a wonderful acknowledgment that an industry award like this one could provide this kind of validation and acknowledgment of the work I’ve done this year, and I’m grateful for the judging panel for being able to see the same kind of value that I have with my clients in creating innovative and liveable designs in the Sunshine Coast area.”

This is not the first time Adrian Ramsay’s work has been acknowledged by the BDAA, with his ‘Studio E’ having won an award in 2019 for ‘New residential buildings up to 250 sqm and over $2,500 / sqm’.

The Building Designers Association of Australia (BDAA) is the national association representing, advocating for, promoting and connecting building designers throughout Australia. Holding themselves as ‘a champion for building designers’, their annual awards showcase leading design initiatives for architects and designers across Australia.
